Momo steering wheel adapter for 1985 911
Hello all,
I have a 1985 911 Carrera coupe. It has stock steering wheel on currently, and I would like to switch it to a Momo Prototipo, which I have actually had laying around for a few years but never gotten around to. When I went to look at the how-to threads on the forum, I realized that the adapter that I have with my steering wheel does not look like the correct adapter. It instead looks like the 1972-1973 adapter, at least from the pictures I see in the parts catalog on this website. I am just hoping that somebody can guide me - is this indeed the incorrect adapter? Will it work for my 1985 911, or do I need to sell it and buy a different adapter? There are so many helpful how-to threads on installation, but I couldnt find any specifically on the adapter and this specific question - apologies if I missed one and am repeating. Chris ![]() ![]()

Yes, that is early. You will need the later style.

Wrong one indeed. The one you're showing most likely has C230 somewhere on the outer side of the black wrinkle finish. You need either a C231 or L231. The C version could be seen as the standard one while the L version is about half an inch longer. More or less that is...
