Hey Mark,
I left the cam in place. I just was careful when pushing the plungers down. The plungers move up and down now. But they probably still have residue/gunk that needs to be flushed out. I might try some Berryman now. Thank you for the info. |
I’m making some progress. Many thanks to the experts Mark Jung and Mr Burgess. Another question: when I move the control rack the barrels (seen from top with delivery valve removed) rotate with the plungers also when the plungers move up and down the barrels also move with the plungers. I think this means they are still frozen together but only at the very bottom of the plunger travel because I was able to unfreeze and push the plungers down. In other words when the plungers are fully unfrozen from the barrels they should move up and down within the barrel and the barrel should not move up and down. And only the plungers should rotate within the barrels (and barrels should not rotate) when I push and pull the control rack. Can someone confirm? Thank you!

You have a few other problems stirring around. Looks like all of the cylinders are now rotating with the plungers so that means you have lost the cylinder index locations. If you do get all the plungers free you will then had to rotate the cylinders to correctly line up with the index pin. I'll try and get you a photo of what I mean. |
Hey mark thanks yes I figured I need to get them high enough off the pin to see what’s happening and to maybe push the barrels down past the plunger but I think in the end I’ll just remove the cam as you suggested so I can push the plungers further
