Turn Signals Hazards Gremlin - Please help me!

Hello. Interesting. All of a sudden have a problem. Every single thing on my car seemed perfect, then this. My car is a 1972 911. No turn signals, and the hazard lights work only on the left rear bulb. I can hear the flasher unit clicking as usual, but only one bulb flashing. No clicking when I use the turn signal switch. Fuses are all perfect. The only thing I’ve done lately was to put in a new brake light switch at the pedal. Any thought PLEEEEEASE? I have zero idea where to start. Thank you.

I don’t have a lot to offer as I am going through a similar problem that remains unsolved. I am getting some good advice from Dennis (Timmy2) but I’m taking a break.

I would like to share just a couple of things I should of done and maybe that will save you some trouble as you work towards fixing your issue.

1- I know you said your fuses were all good, but double check them, pull them and look closely them with a bright light. For me I found one that was burnt but only had a hairline split. This was causing an issue because when I replaced the fuse that fixed my left side lights, but now I have all solid with no flash.

2- check all of your bulbs and make sure they are in the sockets completely.

3- grounds, check and clean the ground locations.

4- narrow down the issue by isolating the problem. You can do this by disconnecting the rear housings and see if that solves the problem. If it does then hook one side back up and check, then the other side. You can do the same for the front by removing the fuses to the front. Your car may differ as mine is an 1978.

5. Continue to isolate the problem by checking the light switch, hazard button and ignition. Does it do the same thing when the light switch is on and off?

That’s where I’m at now. I’m letting my brain rest while I learn how to test the switches. I hope this helps and wish you the best.

Thank you. I’m not sure what I did, but I now have all four flashers(hazard lights) going, but zero happening with the turn signals. I’m guessing that this means the fuses work fine, as do the bulbs. The flasher unit works, but I don’t know if the hazard lights and turn signals operate on separate circuits within it. I wonder if my turn signal switch has given up the ghost, but I would have thought it would do that on one side, but not both at the same time. Any ideas?

You’ll have to trace circuit using process of elimination, a decent meter with continuity would be a big help. Sorry I don’t have a better diagram for you, let me see what else I have.

Well at least you got all four hazards now, what did you do to get those going?

When you were hooking up your brake light switch maybe something else came unplugged, look under the dash and make sure that the 6 pin plugs are seated - pushed in all the way. My car has 5 plugs that connect under the drivers side dash.
