Anyone know what this interior socket is for?
![]() ![]() It's located: 1. Interior 2. Under the dash to the left of the glove box (roughly under and between the glove box and the radio) 3. Just to the left of the passenger side air duct, attached on the "firewall". 3. Looks almost like a relay should be on it. ?

Er, power windows maybe? I can't remember, but this should be an easy one for someone. Is there a matching (and unused) one on the other side?

Too big to fail

There are several things which use that type of socket. Could be something for the fan controls, juding by the location.

Ooops, I'm a moron - I keep thinking in terms of right hand drive (despite my '69 being left hand drive). Sorry

dunno? But my 74 has one in that location and it has a plug going into it too. I've also got 2 like it behind the ignition switch that are plugged into too? No idea what for, but when the one's behind the ignition switch fall out.... no start"e" for me.
Best guess, something electrical? Good luck lil' Bull.

The car is running great, but this is still a mystery "plug". I don't have power windows, so if not operational would not effect them.
Also the Haynes Manual I have I have tried to trace wire routes and still can't seem to follow to this location. Is there a wire connected there? A relay? Something else?

My 72 has a socket like that to the right of the glovebox under the dash and it is for the seat belt buzzer.

I hope that's what it is, I hate having to trace buzzers and electrical lights!

Does your 3 speed blower work?
You should have a pin connector hanging down from your defrost/heat controls. Plug it into the 6 pin socket. Look in the trunk and you'll see the wires coming off the back of the socket and into the blower. Hope this helps. |
