Clutch pedal engagement ?

Well today was a great day, she moved and more importantly stopped today. I did a master cylinder and pedal assembly last year and just got to finishing the brake bleed and test today!

I am sure she needs some dialing in, but I am wondering where your clutch pedal engagement should be? Mine is very very high, as it was before the new bits, but I want to adjust it. The clutch is brand new fyi.

Thanks,

I always go by - Starts to engage at 1/3 pedal travel and fully engaged by 2/3 pedal. Did you use the recommended procedure with feeler gauge at the transmission.

What year is your car? The adjustment procedure changed several times depending on your clutch setup?

It's an 82SC.

I figured i'd go back through the adjustment steps... just to be sure, it just grabs a lot higher than my other cars. 4 cars 4 different clutch and trans feels... lol

New clutch should engage low. Mine is near the bottom, but 1/3 up seems common.

Nope it is all about your set up..if it too low your cable is the opposite from Geronimo..your is too loose and his too tight

Sure, but if you have a new clutch that engages all the way at the top, as it wears (granted, this will be a while) then you run out of room for complete engagement.

yup..then you re adjust it ,simple as that;-)you can only run out of room for adjustment when the disc is worn out ,otherwise not..
