930 muffler strap p/n differenes

The un-goobering of my car continues...

When I removed the Monty muffler from the car the other day, I noticed that the muffler strap had a pair of creases in it, effectively reducing the circumference slightly. Having never seen one before, I wondered if it was a factory kink to allow for thermal expansion or something of that sort.

Today when I started fitting my MM muffler, it became clear that the old strap wasn't going to fit with the kink in place.

(insert foreboding music)

Knowing the likely outcome, I nevertheless thought I'd try and un-kink it. To nobody's surprise this didn't work and the kinks simply fatigue-failed, so now I have a two-piece muffler strap.

The correct part number is 930-111-155-00, according to our host. But my former strap is a 930-111-175-00, which cross-refs to various 84+ Carrera 3.2 models, despite the '930' prefix in the part number.

So the question is if anyone knows the difference? It seems there might be a dimensional indication. The nominal diameter of the -155 version is 190mm I believe, but straightened out, they're clearly much longer than 155/175mm.

I also tried to find what strap size comes with the MM muffler when purchased new, but no luck there.
