SC door lock problem
 

My driver door lock doesn't want to lock manually or with the manual wheel in the door card. It WILL lock and open with the key.

Can I just dribble some lube down the hole or do I need need to remove the door card and do a search for Nemo?

Just had my door opened up to check the locking - no fun.
There is at least one 'rod' behind the card that connects to the manual wheel.
It has plastic connectors that can come loose, or fail completely.
The key bypasses the rod mechanism.
Possible culprit:

993-531-563-00 - Pelican has them

I backed the plunger out and it works, a little stiff but it works.

Maybe you dodged a bullet!

No lube....can't find the damcan....

Don't overtighten the screw for the knob when you reassemble. I did and it created an impingement which made the knob difficult to turn.

if you ever get to take the whole mechanism you should , its actually an engineering marvel when you figure out how it all works. I was fortunate enough to get a bag of those tine plastic fittings for the linkages at Hershey for a buck..

Sounds like it's due for a good disassembly and cleaning. On your cab, at least you only have to pull the back window guide.
Make sure you put a good moisture barrier back on before the door panel.

On my car, I found that the little grip that rides up and down in the garnish strip became too tight in its hole. Seems as though the black plastic insert closes up somewhat over time (lol 45 years!).
I opened it up by reaming it out with sandpaper. Once that part was able to move freely, the whole mechanism became easier to work.

While I was fooling around I also sprayed some lube in the general direction of the locking mechanism, incl inside the lock and by opening slightly the door card, all of which seemed to help.
