Bilstein Service in 2021
Is anyone besides Elephant offering rebuild/revalve services for our Bilsteins these days?
I emailed the bilstein service department, and they referred me to Performance Shock. It looks like ER and Performance shock are both charging about $200 / corner, which means it now costs more to service Bilsteins than buying brand new ones. |
Are you looking to get your existing struts just rebuilt to standard spec or are you looking to get custom valving done?
Jerry Woods Enterprises / Smart Racing Products if you want your shocks custom valved to match bigger torsion bars and your cars weight. If you are just looking to run standard valving, you are better off to just buy new. No need to have your old ones revalved/rebuilt to stock. |
Same here I ended up sending them to Elephant

I was planning on revalving.
Before the pandemic you could send them to Bilstein and get them done for ~$130-160 each. |
Try Glenn Yee in San Dimas. He was factory trained and certified back in the 80s. He’s got a dyno and all the know how required.

Bilstein is about a 45 minute drive from me. I took some in for work last year with no problem. Don't know if they've changed policy.

+ 1 on Glenn Yee. He refurbished the OEM Bilsteins on my GT3 and was just fantastic to work with. If it is a stock shock, then you would be better off financially just buying a new one. If you need something custom, Glenn is a tremendous resource and does a lot of race cars. I got shock and spring dyno results with my rebuild. My stock springs (made by H&R) had developed differing rates over time which is a known problem (to Glenn) with H&R. I would have never known otherwise...
