Coming home - need cat.
Not the furry kind, the exhaust kind!
After 9 years overseas, I'm moving back to the US from Japan. I'm not very excited about Michigan winters or Michigan potholes but at least I'll have cheap gas (relatively) and I'll be able to drive on the right side of the road!! The problem is that my 1987 930 (US spec, originally sold in CO) has a B&B muffler and I don't have the original cat. and muffler that I will need to pass the port inspection by our friends at the EPA. I'm not sure if they even know what they are looking for but it isn't worth the risk. I've tried some of the used parts places but no luck. Anyone have a cat. and muffler for a 930 just taking up space in the garage that they want to sell? I assume 1986-1989 is the same but I'm not sure. I'm moving in July so I really need to get going on this. Thanks for your help.

I know this isn't what you want to read but apx. 15 of us have non-turbo cats we'd be willing to loan you. If you want to remove the turbo for a month or so I'll exchange it for my old cat/muffler system.

Try Nikolasmotorsport.com based in Michigan, I know he had a stock cat and muffler for sale, I think it was off a '89.

Thanks a lot for the nice offer, I truly appreciate it. I actually found a cat and muffler on e-bay yesterday but it's a little pricey, particularly since I only need it until I get to Michigan. On the other hand, beggars can't be choosers so I may just have to buy it.
