Thumbs up 190Km/hr LEGAL driving

Well I got in my first Police pursuit the other night.

We were after a stolen Neon and I was lucky enough to be in the right spot at the right time to be the primary pursuit vehicle.

We were only pursuing in town for 2-3 minutes then the chease went out of town on open highway. It was at night (2AM) and there was NO traffic, we only passed one car coming in the other direction near the near of the chase. So it was really safe.

Speeds were in excess of 190KM/hr but he was in a Neon and our Policy is not to "bump" The pursuit lasted 33 minutes. The dummies in the stolen Neon actually ran out of gas, and the arrest was done without further incident.

Just thought I show you guys how supportive my bosses are for me to practice for an autocross one day. Hell they even paid me for that

Shawn

Good story...was the Neon owner a cute female? If so, I hope she showed gatitude.

190KM/hr, what's that 120mph? . . I didn't know a NEON could do that. . . esp for 30 minutes.

BTW; Who would steal a NE-ON? . . .maybe a MOR-ON,

Shawn, do you know yet if you're going to get the time off for the RRRII ?

Have you ever seen a Neon autocross? Not too shabby.

A friend works for Honda R&D. . ..they test all the "other-guys" cars, to know the competition.
In this testing, the Neon stood out in the intensive brake testing . .. the hub-caps melted! (they had never seen that before)
heh-heh. . it still makes laugh.

Well guys Neons are one of the most stolen vehicles out there. They are really simple to steal so that's why crooks take them. Mostly the just take them to joy ride or use in commission of other crimes. Tha'ts what was happening with these guys (One guy and a girl) They would steal cars and use them in break and enters and ditch the cars to steal another.

We had 4 or 5 neons stolen in 2 days.

Island bad news I WLL NOT BE ABLE TO GO TO RRR2

Motion YES it is North of Great Falls, small city 50,000ish but really nice.

As for the owner this one was stolen off the dealer lot, that could be part of the reason it only had 1/4 tank.

The worst part is I wish I would have been in my 911, I really could have had fun with this guy and played around. An aside on this is; we had another pusuit earlier in the day (not me) and that was with a new Cooper MINI and they had speeds of 220km/hr area in a mini!

Until I got my 911 a few months ago, I was driving a Neon R/T. I can attest to the fact that it stuck to the pavement pretty well. I ran it at 110+ a few times, & it never felt floaty or unstable.
