911 Seat Swappage
I recently picked up some great "new" seats to replace the worn out originals in my '88 Carrera. My originals are manual/elec combo: manual fore/aft, elec lumbar. The new seats are used (allegedly from an '89 Carrera), but in terrific shape, and while the passenger is a manual/elec combo, the driver's seat is ALL electric-- it has the usual "big" plug at the front, and another smaller plug dangling off the rear underside.
My first thought was that the smaller plug perhaps controlled some of the seat's add'l motors. Or maybe it is for heating, or seatbelt? Anyone have any input/experience with this? Do I really need this little plug (that is not on my original seat)--i.e. if all the adjustment motors get juice from the big plug in front, I'll be fine. Again, I don't know what the smaller plug's for... do you?

I think the other plug is for heating.

Well... the 'new' seats are in! Did it this weekend--no problems whatsoever.
As a point of reference, my original drivers seat DID have the smaller plug under it after all...still no clue about what its really for. The passenger side did not have the plug...and neither did the replacement seat. Anyway, I'm so psyched. Sitting on perfect leather. I love it.
