backdating door mirror from flag to chrome
Hello,
this swap seems to be common and I wonder how people have managed to cover the exposed holes after swapping to two bolt chrome mirrors. Any ideas or products out there that could cover up flag mirror mounting holes? Thanks in advance |

You really only have 3 options:
Fabricate a metal plate or larger gasket to cover the extra holes. Weld them up, fill and paint (then consider other mirrors that don’t mount to the door like the singer thru-glass or ST Parts (sold by design-911 and Stuttgart classica) window frame mount bullet motors.) both are $$ Achtunkraft make a bullet mirror that covers the flag holes.

I’d vote for option 3 from above. They also just released a polished version that might better scratch your itch.

There was a Pelican who made a slightly larger rubber gasket, actually his was metal and then covered it in black vinyl and it covered the holes without really being noticeable- it’s a pretty good solution if the paint under your mirror mount is good;
Want to replace my sideview mirrors
