FYI Odometer gear Euro and USA are same
My odometer gear crumpled last fall. When getting replacement gear I didn’t know which to get or what was different between the 20x30 USA vs EURO and my disintegrated gear gave no answers. After getting both versions my calipers tell me that there is no difference
I’ll upload a photo later, I can’t seem to do photos from an iPhone Sierra madre part # OM 066 OM 021 76-89 20x30 gear |

They are both 20x30.
The one thought I had was that the dimensions of the teeth would be different. But they are not, or at least If there is a difference it’s within manufacturing spec I believe that the difference between US and Euro gauges is simply in the gauge face being in Km/h or mph |

I'm scratching my head too, I bet there's an 80 year old guy named Torsten who could tell us.
But the ODO gear that disintegrates are the same. These are the Euro an the US gears from SIERRA MADRE ![]() Again, my confusion was because my car was a RoW imported and I had know idea where that speedo came from, all I knew was that it was 20x30 Last edited by Mtsurfposse; 04-12-2025 at 11:52 AM.. |

The gears for KM and Miles are not the same. I'm out of town for a couple of weeks so I don't have my notes, but there are a couple of different gear configurations for the KM speedos. If you count the number of teeth on the center gear and reach out to the guys at odometer gears they can tell you what primary gear you need

This eBay store sells a bunch of different odometer gears and conversion kits. Probably some clues in here.
