1975 911S RestoMod - finally nearing completion.

I started this project ~7 years ago and I am about 2 weeks away from living the dream. Pictures say a thousand words so I will just post a bunch of pics. I've spent years searching for the right car, parts, and people who I can trust to get my dream car put together the way I envisioned. I enjoy working on my cars and motorcycles but I'm by no means an expert car mechanic. But I wanted this done right so I've entrusted the project to a bunch of skilled craftsmen and artists to get it the way I envisioned it. I've seen a lot of great projects on this forum and some pretty amazing DIY builds. This is not one of those DIY projects. Credit for this build goes to the following people who I'd like to take a moment to thank.

Without the following people, I would not be able to live out my California Dream. So thank you to all of you.
1. Clint at Rebel S Racing in Morro Bay for installing Bilstein Coilover suspension and 996 Brembo Brakes and other custom suspension parts.
2. Carlos Hernandez (body work and paint)...a master artist and he doesn't even know it.
3. Mike Szabo (fellow pelican) for providing a 964 3.6L engine freshly rebuilt by Jim's Fine Auto in Albuquerque, NM.
4. Andrew Darud of www.RasantProducts.com for taking that rebuilt engine and turning it in to something truly special and making all the mods needed to fit this 1993 motor in to the 1975 chassis. Also for upgrading the transmission to reliably handle the new 300HP motor. As well as for giving special attention to detail on many aspects of this project. And for providing great detailed explanations to help guide the project and keep it on track.
5. Alex Orozco (fellow pelican) for supplying original sport seats and steel 930 body parts. And driving an hour on rt101 to meet me in King City to make it easier for me to get the parts. And he made that drive twice!
6. North Hollywood Speedometer for restoring and upgrading the gauges to my exact specifications.
7. Cesar (local guy) for getting the suede headliner done better than Porsche could have done themselves from the factory. Also for the quality leather interior.
8. PelicanParts for lots of parts along the way.
9. Ryan Turri (fellow pelican) ...for finding the car for me.

This is what it looked like when I got it:

Then had it stripped down to bare metal and repainted basalt black metallic.

I'm not a big fan of those wheels and tyres but that's just my preference.
I do like the blacked out look a lot.
Very nice work! Congrats!

I like that you kept and refurbished the old wheels.

What's up with the lug nuts?

Very nice looking intake setup with the gt3 manifold and itbs. Whose itbs are they?

How does it drive?

Will be switching all lug nuts to open ended black ones. I’ll be picking the car up in a couple weeks. Will report back how it drives then.

I’ve gone back and forth on what wheels to go with for years. Ultimately I like 16” wheels on this car. If I could have found 16x9/11 Fuchs rsr finish I would have gone that route.

Spectacular. Nicely executed. Hope you enjoy many happy miles.

Did you have the guts to keep tabs on the total cost? I have been on my project and not sure it was the smartest idea! haha

I think it’s a very tasteful build all the way around. And the Gotti-style wheel was the ultimate 5 spoke in the mid 80’s and has aged gracefully in my opinion. Looks perfect to me.

Thanks! I do have an idea of total cost and it is way over budget but I knew this was going to happen. Like many of us on this forum, I was bitten by the Porsche bug when I was young and impressionable. I knew I had to have my perfect version of the 911 one day.
