Will this 11 blade fan work on my car???
Well, I took a chance and bought this fan on e-bay. The seller says it will work on my car? but then he wants to sell it! I figure for the price I will take a chance. Heres the deal, Pelican and other sites that list these fans list different pulley sizes, also pelican lists a 3.25 pulley for the up-graded fan for my car. My original 5 blade has a 3.25" pulley on it. Some listings for these fans state they have 3.75" diameter pulley. What are they talking about, where is the difference? Is it the pulley surface on the fan itself that is different? Take a look and tell me if this looks like it is going to work on my car, if it doesn't I will probably try to sell it on this site.

or try to find a used one in good condition. Try Pelican classified forum. I have found some real good stuff there.

Bill,
I will have an extra fan for a 3.0/3.2 in a couple weeks. I'm not sure it will fit your car, but if you think you could use, shoot me a PM.

If you just want to replace the fan the most important part is going to be the fan diameter since that changed a few times through the years. The fan will need to fit your shroud/housing.

It should fit just fine. Take the time and give it a good clean up and perhaps powder coat it.

Hard to say. Not much info in the listing. 78-79 cars had a smaller fan, other years had larger. You did get it for a good price and I can't see any chips in the blades. Even if it doesn't fit you should be able to sell it for what you paid or more if you shine it up.

Hi Willy, Not to be synical, But that fan you purchased is for 74-75 911, and it has a 3-3/4 pulley dia. the 76 is 3-1/4 your going to need the outter pulley half from the same year, and depending where you live you might need a dual outter pulley half to run your somg pump.
you definately got a nice deal though. Jorge (Targa Dude) Last edited by Targa Dude; 05-19-2003 at 08:46 AM.. |
