86-89 Side Vents & AC

First thank you to everyone for posting your AC stories to the forums. I have found them to be a big help. I have a pretty good idea of the pros and cons of different setups (Classic Retrofit vs. Griffiths; running several condensers in series; window tinting; etc).

I have one question for those who were able to get a good outcome of there AC setups.

I realize that the side vents on the 86-89 911s were larger and could swivel. For those that were able to get good cabin temps in really hot climates, how much of a difference do you feel this additional air flow made? In your opinion would it be worth it to hold out for a car with the bigger side flow vents or do you feel they were marginal in your success in cooling your car? I would be willing to use Classic Retrofit's under dash ducts (they seem to be small and less visible) if you think they would help.

Thanks in advance for you input.
