How to keep the rain out of engine compartment?
So here goes,
Basically just detailed my engine and compartment as best I could. I also removed the AC coil on the trunk lid. It would appear as though of it rains, the rain could blast right through the trunk screen/vent and onto the engine. Is there anything I can do to keep the rain out, or am I pretty much stuck with this...? -BG

Nothing kept the rain out before you removed the coil on the engine lid. Rain coming in thru the vents is normal.

Leave the car in a garage, that will prevent the rain from getting in to the engine. Also, avoid driving it, that will retard the time of an engine rebuild

Intersting question. Every time I washed the Targa (sold), water would get all over the engine requiring me to blow it down and wipe it off. (Kept it clean anyway) Having had a couple of 914s with the tray under the grille, it makes me wonder why that feature wasn't designed into the 911. Oh well, it wasn't, so park under cover, I guess.

All 912's has a plastic rain tray under the rear lid grille; This is to keep the rain off the electrics and out of the original air cleaners on the 4 cylinder.
