Hi, I just bought my new 1988 targa and trying to install the PCCM (Porsche classic communication management systems). However, this car has been upgraded to Alpine sound system (CDA 9885 radio + PDX 4.100 4 channel Amplifier).
1. If I want to keep the amplifier, how can I connect the amplifier to the PCCM? How much does this work take? 2. A car stereo shop plan to charge me $1.1k to connect PCCM to the amplifier. Is this too much? Thanks! Alpine amplifier wiring: ![]() PCCM wiring: ![]() |

If they’re charging that much they must be installing a Dsp .
There are cheaper ways to convert speaker level to rca inputs . |

believe you could use the "Adaptor cable Blaupunkt (optional) Part Number 91164550901" listed in your diagram (which appears to provide line outs in a DIN connector configuration) along with a DIN>RCA adaptor to feed the power amp's line level RCA inputs. Should not cost anywhere near $1k to obtain/configure -- see https://www.design911.com/Adapter-Cable-Blaupunkt-Sound-System-Porsche-911---964---993/prod131704/ and https://creativecaraudioshop.com/shop/ols/products/blaupunkt-female-8-pin-din-to-4-male-rca-for-porsche-mercedes-and-bmw .

The 'yellow' connector on your PCCM looks like the standard lineout connector on modern radio's (the C1 yellow block), so with a cable like this you could use that to drive your existing amp inputs.
Look for "Blaupunkt 4 channel pre-amp out output lead preamp connection for amplifiers" or "6 pin mini ISO audio" on the internet/eBay and you will find them locally. So this 10 EUR cable + a male-male cinch cable of the appropriate length to your preamp (15 EUR) should do the trick. If the amp is under your passenger floorboard for example or under your passenger seat, the cable routing under the carpet is quite easy and the work can be done in less than one hour (given the amp is already in place and connected to your speakers and to a decent direct power line as I see 2x30A fuses, that power cable must be thick!). ![]() C1 LineOut Connector (Yellow typically) Pin 1 = Line Out Left Rear Pin 2 = Line Out Right Rear Pin 3 = Line Out Ground (for all) Pin 4 = Line out Left Front Pin 5 = Line out Right Front Pin 6 = 12V switched 'remote' for amplifier (blue cable) (to your power supply remote)

On some radio’s that is a subwoofer output (filter at 120 Hz). Javen’t seen that for a long time (my Blaupunt from 1996 has that type of sub output). However, it would be better to find the cable with the blue output cable (instead of this SUB-cinch) as it will enable you to switch on/off your power amp through your radio unit. I am pretty sure that is what the pin is used for now. Off course, you could also just snap of the sub cinch connector and use the wire come to think of it … Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
