Help Appbiz RS Carpet kit install instructions/help

Hello,

Looking for some guidance to install the RS carpet set I purchased from appbiz. I’ve spoke with Bob and he’s recommended to not personally install the kit, yet where I live I have no access to this type of resource. So I’m without instructions or at the least a legend for each piece.

Is there anyone that has installed a B kit for a 74-83 1/2 coupe?

Help/guidance is appreciated.

Thanks

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I would suggest using the search feature. There are countless threads that give tips, diagrams, links to PDF instructions and videos, etc.

Lol, I appreciate the humour towards this.

I’ll continue to look, just thought it may help to post and someone with knowledge could post the best thread. Time savings.

🤙🏻

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Here are a few links I found to save you some time. I would also suggest doing a google search (much easier) for "Porsche 911 carpet install pelican parts forum" - that should get you some good results.

Had several conversations with Bob as well. His advice is sound. Get a pro to do it. I couldnt get into any auto upholstery places but found a boat shop that tackled it. Very happy with the results and I wasnt high from glue or ended up with glue where it shouldnt be.

This video is great to get a visual on each piece. There are 2 episodes. I found it very helpful.

Appreciate the sound guidance. I’m going to continue my search and will consider boat shops. We have those being on the coast

Cheers

why are you afraid of doing it yourself? It is not like painting a car or something? I did one kit last year on an SC body and it really was not that a difficult.

Yeah I don’t get advice like “don’t do it yourself” - you can definitely do this yourself and you’ll feel pretty accomplished when you do.

Its not a matter of being afraid to do it yourself its living with the results if it doesnt turn out well. Most carpets are only sold in kits, and if you screw one piece up, you cant get another one. That wrinkle that just wouldnt go away will be an eyesore to you every time you drive the car. If I mess up something mechanical, I take it apart and start over. An advantage to farming it out is its done quickly. The boat shop I went to made the pieces I needed and installed them for the same price as a full kit which I didnt need all of. Its a matter of knowing your strengths and mine is definitely not in fit and finish. I just dont have the patience. Its why my winter beaters all looked good from far but were far from good.
