Bad Bearing or Tire Noise?
Greetings,
Over the winter I lowered my Carrera to 24.75" front and 24.25" rear in addition to other unrelated projects. When I pulled it out of storage this spring I had it realigned and the amount of negative camber was increased slightly on the front. I immediately noticed that I would get a low roar from the front driver's side wheel at speeds above 40 mph. Since I recently had to replace rear wheel bearings I figured the fronts were probably bad as well and replaced them too. The low roar is still there at the same speeds as before. It seems to be coming from the driver's side but it could just be that I notice it more since I'm sitting there. My question is. Could my camber change be causing my tires to make more noise than before? Perhaps the tires had worn to the old camber and now with the new camber the don't contact the road quite the same and are making noise? I do have Bridgestone RE730s which I've heard are noisy tires when the wear. Any chance I'm just hearing tire noise?

If you hear the noise while the car is in a straight line chances are it the tire and not the bearing. Bearing noise are more pronounce when the car is turning left or right since that action preload the bearings.

I hear the noise going straight down the road, in a right, in a left turn, all the time as long as I'm going faster than about 40 mph. I think it's tire noise, just looking for some confirmation.
I plan to put on my slicks tonight for a quick drive and see if the noise goes away.
