To those who have responded to my (niave) questions, greatly appreciated.

Thanks Wayne for the board...

special mention to Warren (Early S Man), for his solving my engine miss "have I burned a valve" thread, turned out to be ignition wires, and your CV boot help

Jim and Roland for the extra info on my coupler thread(s) (and others)

and Superman (esp. the ignition switch thread, and John Walker for helping myself to persevere.)

And to many others who helped my questions......

My 1969 911 E has been running strong...very strong...and I thank all of you!

Here's the ignition switch I chose. Personally I like gold on black vs. the stock plastic mounting ring, although I could still go back to using the stock ring with some modification:
