84 ROW Targa Intermittent Windshield Wiper Control
 

Two weeks ago, I bought an ROW 1984 Targa (1st Porsche!). The regular windshield wipers work in slow and fast mode, but the intermittent wiper switch on the dash doesn't work. Any thoughts on testing the "Pulse Module" as it is referred to in the Haynes workbook, or any other parts of this wiper control?

May have found the answer
 

Found a couple of references on this BBS (very helpful!) on checking the parking feature on the windshield wiper switch. May wipers don't "park" so I'll try those first.

Have you tried it without turning on the wipers ;)

My car's intermittent doesn't work if it has rained a lot, but when it dries up it works just fine. Apparently it is an issue with the switch in the column that is similar to the problem with the high beam switch where the contacts bend and don't maintain contact.
