just bought a 67S

Not content with 2 ongoing projects I have jumped in the deep end with this one.
This is one of just 35 1967 911S Coupes supplied in the UK. Originally Bahama Yellow, it still has the original engine and gearbox. It needs loads of work, there is rust absolutely everywhere and it has the wrong front fenders, valance and turn signals

Yeah, and the steering wheel is on the wrong side too.

Just kidding - looks like a fun project!

Well I've had a better look around the car now. It's as bad as I thought. I hadn't sat in the car before, but when I did my foot went through the floor. The driver seat reclined to horizontal when I pressed the clutch pedal.

The door key is broken, the headling is torn and the battery is flat.

What have I done?

Yeah, I've seen some strange mods done to early cars, but moving the steering wheel is wacky. Next thing somebody will put the engine in the back or something...

Well, I assume that the price was close to free, right? So if you change your mind, no big deal. You are a brave man, but it might be cheaper to just buy one in concours condition, rather than trying to put that one right. Old saying: "You cannot make a pickle back into a cucumber".

I once had a 912 parts car that was WAY worse than that car; it looked as though it had sat on the bottom of the river for decades. Sold it by the pound for scrap. Good luck and keep us posted!

I wanted to congratulate you but I'm not sure if that's the appropriate response. Seriously though it can be saved. It will just take a lot of time, determination, and unfortunently moola.

1 of 35 RHD. That's pretty special.

Bahama Yellow. Love It.

Go Nick Go!!! Rah Rah

Hmm, wonder who said this:

Which of the European countries has the most alcoholized men?
Answer: Great Britain, they install the steering wheel to wifes side straight from the factory.

Nice project though, rust is not a problem

Cool! I wish I had the time to take on a project like that -- but then I wish that I had the time to work on my current project.

Good Luck and have fun!
