Bilstein Sport Shocks for Front/ Boge Strut insert

Has anyone noticed a slight rattle in insert at top of shock when hitting sharp bump like a driveway? I thought it was my hubs a little loose. I checked and hubs are tight. So while I had car off ground I moved the tire with one hand on top and the other at bottom and wiggled it back and forth. I notice play at top of shock where it goes into strut. It only moves about 1/16 of an inch. I Talked with Tyson Schmidt about this and he said it was normal with the Bilstein insert. Sure is annoying to hear this sound. I do not have the struts filled with oil. I was told by Bilstein tech support that didn't need to refill.

yup, happened to me with the same setup.

Turned out the top nut that fastens the insert into the housing had loosed up over time.

I used a large pipe wrench to tighten the nut and sound went away.

Raise the front, remove the strut bolt, push down the strut, remove the dust cover and try moving the insert up and down. Itll be really clear if its coming from the inside.

Thanks, I'll give it a try
