electrical short in 1985 Porsche 930 s turbo
In the middle of my drive the blinkers stopped working, when I got back to the garage o found the fuse for my brake lights and the fuse for the powered windows have both blown. My hazards work and brake lights, I can’t find any wires that are cut open that could be grounding to the car. And if I way a screwdriver over the two terminals for the window fuse would it dam nears fuses the screwdriver to the terminals. There’s a draw but I don’t know where to look for the obvious.

Shorted somewhere.
That was easy. Take a 12v test light or bulb and go across the fuse terminals. The bulb will light when there is a load or short. If the bulb comes on then start by wiggling the window switches one by one. When the light goes out, the short/load is gone. Going deeper I think your window switches can be wiggled out of the door. Be very careful you don’t pull wires off. It may be safer/easier to remove the door card and check the switch wires from behind. Start with the drivers side as there are two of the three switches there. |
