Removeing carpet?

Getting ready to start rippen and tearing the carpet out of my carrera, and was just wondering if anyone had the secret as to how in the heck do you remove the old carpet from the removeable panels such as the doorpockets and other plastic/fiberglass parts that the carpet is glued on. I know one of you guys have a easier way to do other than just tearing it off. Thanks in advance Jim Leblanc 89 3.2 cab

Just pull out the old carpet and remove the old adhesive with 3M adhesive remover. Let it soak in for a few minutes first. Watch those fumes.

Does the adhesive remover work on the crap which adheres the sound insulation to the tub?

Thanks.

Hey, Jim. What color is your carpet? I would like to find about one square foot of black carpet for my 87 Carrera to patch some worn spots. Good luck with your project. Chuck...

If it is black I sure would be interested in the drivers side carpet, the one from in front of the seat to the pedals.

I have black German Silver Knit out of a 76 S. I have the four floor pieces and pedal piece in really good condition. I will split it up, but would rather sell as a set at reasonable price.
