Replacement mini spare tire ?

Is it possible to replace just the tire on a mini spare wheel? I have a mini spare wheel and tire off a 911 Carrera but the rubber must be very old.

I sourced a space-saver tire from Harvey Weidman, Weidman's Wheels, in Oroville. He also mounted it for me.

You can also source one at your local TireRace and/or Wheel Works. They’ll also mount the new one and dispose of the old one. At least my local ones have.

Pelican sells new original Space Saver tiires 928-362-030-02-OEM complete wheel and tire.

And yes, it is possible to replace just the tire.
There are some posts regarding this.

Try using that original spare tire. Last year I used my 1979 SC spare for the second time in over 30 years and it worked just fine for a short, 1-2 mile run to the tire store. Deflated it and put it back for future use. Rubber seemed okay to me but I'm not sure I'd go far or fast.

Side note is the spare rim did not fit cleanly over the rear spacers, so they had to be removed too

Yes

you can even make it a slick little project by welding the tie-down bolt onto the back on a center cap so you can secure the rim down with a clean application.

form and function......
