Spoke,
I’m still trouble shooting my TS puzzle.
I picked up an EP26, and soldered wire as you described-thanks!
With Hand brake off, ign on the TSignals work (indicator lights are reversed as you state)

But, when I turn TS off, I still hear relay clicking - no TS are flashing though?

Any thoughts?

OK, so it sounds like the turnsignals are behaving as expected but you hear the EP26 clicking with no turnsignals or 4-ways on, correct? If so, there is some electrical leakage in the wiring or in the brake master cylinder warning switch.

On thing about the EP26 is its ability to function with LEDs. EP26 has a very low threshold for flashing. Very low. So low that small electrical leakages to ground will cause the EP26 to cycle. Your turnsignals don't come on because neither hazard switch or L or R turnsignals are active.

I just did some tests this week on EP26 and found the threshold for flashing is about 60uA which is tiny. That's 0.06mA or 0.00006A. I found that a 500 ohm resistor placed across the 49A (power) and 49 (flasher output) will raise the threshold to 2mA and may stop the flasher from cycling.

500 ohm resistor was chosen to work well with my LED turnsignals. An even lower value resistor could possibly be used to raise the threshold even further.

Bill,

I think the '68 has the same rear lights as the '69-'89 so yes my LEDs will fit your car.

Thanks. I feel a project upcoming!

Spoke,
Thanks for explanation, 500 ohm resistor did not work, so I tried 100 ohm and that solved the issue.
Perhaps a 300ohm would work but I left 100 in place
Many thanks for solving this gremlin!

Thread revival to thank @spoke for the flasher relay. After sourcing LEDs from another vendor that claimed to know how to put it all together I couldn’t get the indicators in the Speedo to work. Vendor claimed to have some deeper knowledge but when asked further questions just offered a refund for the LEDs.

Stumbled across this thread, ordered a relay and just had to reverse the indicator bulbs as discussed earlier in this thread. Very happy to now have fully functioning lights and indicators!
