Installing MSD, wiring question?

Installing MSD Ignition (tested already and worked great, my tach even worked!). I am fabricating a mounting bracket for the unit to go in the place vacated by CDI unit (Moving other electrical components around to make room). I was wondering if other people that mounted the unit in same position can tell me how they routed the hot wiring to the starter, I was working from Waynes book "101 projects".

I did not run the hot from the starter. I used the unused hot I had at the three fuse connectiion right there. Never had any issues. Look at the amp draw of the unit, not very high if I recall.

If you run the hot wire from the starter the unit will always be on. Wouldn't it be better to run a wire from a fuse that is switched?

I installed a MSD on my 1973 and had my brother fabricate a bracket for me.
