Possible to remove speedo cable inner from sheath?
Realizing the new inner cables that are available now are 12" too long, I had the idea that one could remove the inner cable from a new Porsche cable with the sheath (901-741-111-01). Is this possible? I did not wish to deal with the extra cable length and re-crimping it. Hollywood Speedo is still waiting on material to make the correct length cables, so I cannot go that route yet.
I was able to pull my broken one out from the transmission end. However, the new cable seems to be attached at the speedo and not able to push it through. Has anyone tried this?

I was going to attempt to yank on it, but seems there may be some sort of ring holding it in. Hoping that one of you had already experimented with one.
