How to stop sugar scoops from lifting above 60 mph?

On my 85 Carrera the driver's side headlight sugar scoop will lift up and lean forward from the wind at 60 mph and above. It seems tight when I attach it, but it's like the lip that's supposed to hold the top won't hold. Just wondering if anyone else has had that happen and what you did about it? I was thinking of epoxying a small strip of metal to the inner lip on the scoop to maybe extend it? One side holds fine, the other doesn't.

Probably a silly question but if this is common and there is a common solution, I'd like to know. The car has the factory US spec scoops...not the H4's

Thanks
Mark

I don’t think you’re catching the lip on top. I replaced my gaskets and it took some work to get them back on correctly. Suggest you give it another try, alternatively you could cut back the gasket on top just to see it that changes it

I can try that. I did fiddle with it quite a bit and it felt secure, but still the same at speed. cutting back the gasket a bit sounds like a good option. It's almost like there should be a longer lip either on the fender, or the scoop, but everything looks just like the other side. I'll keep messing around with it.

I usually cut about 1mm + 3cm long piece of the new seal right behind the bucket clip this way it will not slip out..

I had someone recommend buying and installing gaskets for a 356 (from PORSCHE) and it did the trick..apparently thinner but still fully seals
