Troubleshooting Blaupunkt Amp

I’m hoping someone hear can offer some guidance on a stereo problem I’m having with my 964. The car was completely stock when I received it except for replacement door and rear speakers. At the time I received the car the front speakers including the door tweeters were barely audible.

Initially I thought it may be the head unit and I have since replaced it with a Blaupunkt SQR46 DAB. Unfortunately that didn’t solve the issue with the door speakers. Next up I replaced the door 5.25” speakers with some Focal units hoping that maybe the speakers were shot but I should have known that wasn’t the issue since the door tweeters were also barely audible.

Unless I’m missing something the only thing left would be the Blaupunkt BQA80 amplifier thats under the seat but I’m struggling to understand why only the rear speakers sound good and the front are faint. Has anyone experienced similar issues and figured out the cause?

Fortunately I have a spare BQA 80 Amp but still curious if the existing amp is the issue.

Would appreciate any guidance on this.

Could be a few different things.check impedance and power requirements for rear and front speakers make sure they’re compatible with your system. swap out your amp and check connections. Make sure things are wired correctly, check door wires. Not a stereo expert by any means but that’s where I would start.

Good point on the resistance and its something that crossed my mind. I believe the new speakers I bought are compatible with the amp but I’m not sure what’s in back and perhaps the combination isn’t compatible?

I need to get the seat out of the car so I can get to the amp and check connections, I’m hoping that’s the culprit. I’ll also install the backup amp at that time just in case.

As far as wiring, other than replaced speakers everything else is stock from what I can tell so I don’t anticipate wiring issues.

If I’ve missed anything let me know.
