79 Euro SC Rescued Today

Today I got to free this beauty from a 14 year slumber in a storage building.
Thankfully rust free and no battery acid damage.
Euro SC, cloth seats, manual sunroof, ac, cookie cutters.

I connected the seller with a buyer. Both local so the car is staying in Greenville, SC. The buyer plans to revive it. He told me not to let him sell it once it’s running. Lol.

Wonder what the story behind this is.
I see Euro-Bumperettes and kmh-Speedo.

The plates are old german export-customs plates.
the stamp looks like the old "Bundes-Adler"

We had plates like this on our Merc Wagon going to Africa in 1988

Tell us a bit if you don't mind

Appears to be a great project for the buyer.

Hopefully, updates will be following as the project progresses.

Very nice find, not many Euro's with sunroof & A/C form that era, interesting rear lenses with dual amber & red @ the very corner 1/4 lights. Hope it gets the proper attention it deserves, it looks to be in good shape otherwise - KEEP THE LIC. PLATE it's very cool

Spicy little unit.

Looks like it will be a great car with some TLC

Thanks everyone. No updates yet. Scheduled for detailing next week. I’ve suggested marvel mystery oil soak for the engine.
To answer above the car was purchased in the Black Forest region of Germany. The owner toured around Europe a bit and then took it to the port for shipping.
15 years ago he got into a very busy stage of life and parked it.

If needed I know of a very good air cooled Porsche mechanic nearby.

kltarga72 -- if you're in Western NC , Air Cooled Classic Porsche in Knoxville might be the closest? I've heard really good things about this shop. Heck I might drive over and say hi one of these days.

I know….I am as well.
The car is part of a large collection now and there are a lot of other items taking time, money and energy.
But I’ll promise to provide updates as the new owner progresses with it.
