Self help seat restoration

“Treat your leather with love and respect, and it will reward you with a lifetime of service” (Tandy Leather). That’s the plan with the leather sport seats out of my 80SC.

To that end, hoping to bounce a couple of questions off others that feel the same:
1. Want to build up some of the seating foam on drivers side. I tried profiling some high quality / high density upholstery foam. The OG foam will provide rigidity but it still feels a little soft. Anyone have a harder auto foam they’ve used with success?
2. Next step will be some minor repairs and re-dying. Is it worth sending a swatch to Colorplus to match black or are they pretty close off the shelf?

Not related to the leather, but does anyone know where I can find the below picture “boot”. It’s at the connection point of the top and bottom of the seat.

Cheers,
Tom
