questions about a 935 suspensinon on a street car, pros/cons
I am no suspension guru but am in the planning process for suspension improvements on my dual purpose car. (more street than track) 1974 911 w/ carrera body improvements and a modified 3.0 ...or a twin plug 2.8 that I've had sitting around for a while.
My plan was to add bistein rsr struts up front w/ the raised spindle and smart racings bump steer kit but using torsion bars and not the springs on the rsr struts. The inserts would be re-valved and I will be using 21/27 mm torsion bars. I will put bilstein shocks in the rear to match the front struts. I will keep the carrera sway bars until the next cash infusion into the car which will involve adding smart racing products sway bars or something similiar. Yesterday, I ran into a "deal" on a 935 suspension w/ monoballs and am now cosidering it. Pros/Cons? thanks JMZ

JMZ, your original plan of using RSR struts on your coupe, while keeping the torsion bars sounds fine, I ran RSR coilovers with a totally heim-jointed suspension, (front and rear) on a 3.5 914-6, and it was over the top for street use. It was killer at the track, but not too civilized on the street. I think you may be happiest staying with what you have planned, and adding the smart racing sways later, leave the monoballs for the track only cars. You wont have to have fillings replaced by your Dentist on a regular basis either. Regards, Doug

Did you catch the recent threads on the new bushing designs? They seem like a good way to keep your suspension working within the engineers design principles without making the suspension to harsh. The 935 susp looks cool, but not sure of its use with chuck holes and curbs.
By the way, we can make you a mouthguard to keep your teeth from chattering....Several drivers are wearing them in Top Fuel Drags now for tire shake :-) DDS
