Fill 'er problem

I went to Sam's to fill up my '69 911 E. About the time that I felt the first burp the lady in front of me said "hey, you're dripping liquid from the front of your car". Indeed, I had gasoline coming from both of the vent drains, like a #$^^## faucet. I did not overfill the tank, as there was no gasoline in the overflow housing surrounding the filler neck itself. After pouring about 1/2 gallon to 1 gallon of gas on the concrete it stopped and I went home. I found that there was a little bit of gasoline in the frunk that was coming from the left vent/drain hose. It is not clear to me how the gasoline got to the vent drains when there was no gasoline anywhere else. Hope I'm making sense. Again, I'm sure I did not overfill the tank and this has never occurred before that I know of. Thank you. Thoughts? Thanx and Merry Xmas

You may have a loose line (or separated vapor line) or a cracked vapor tank in the left front wheel well. Trace all the lines. If it is a loose line, you should be able to smell fuel.

Thanks again. I will look at the lines tomorrow.
