911SC Vapor/Carbon Canister

Somewhere during working on my project car (which has taken far too long!) I misplaced the vapor/carbon canister from my car. I don't remember why I removed it now, but somehow it has gone missing. Relatively big item to misplace but things happen.

So I ordered what is supposed to be the current replacement (not from our host) since the original is NLA. Their write-up said that "some plumbing changes may be required" No joke. Check this.

This thing is HUGE; 3.72 dia.X10.5 long, and weighs slightly over 2# (not that that's a big issue). The kicker though is the 24X36mm oval pipe coming out of the RH end. It's large enough to accept the crankcase breather hose! The P/N on the invoice is 1H0-201.801 C, and a P/N on the item itself is 111,600.110.0.

Although I'm sure it could be made functional, the thing is so large and clunky looking my intent is to return this although it would probably cost as much to send it back than it's worth; I may just scrap it.

In any case I don't think the ROW cars had this so my question is how were they plumbed up to take care of the hoses from the front of the car? I think I may just eliminate it altogether. Were the ROW cars just vented into the air filter housing? Or does someone out there have an original laying around they would like to get rid of?

Suggestions?

I believe ROW follows hose 17 exiting in front bumper and US followed hose 21 back to engine bay.

I will try the WTB route. Meantime I am looking for alternatives.
