911 Rear Fog Light Wiring

I just purchased and installed a rear fog light for my 82 911 SC. There were no wiring diagrams/instructions supplied.

Any ideas how to connect correctly to the front fog lights?

Thanks.

Peter,

There is a spare wire [for USA cars] dedicated to the rear fog lamp in the bundle going to the left rear tail lamp assembly at the rear bulkhead connector at the rear left corner of the engine compartment. It is folded and taped near the fog lamp switch, and also at the wire bundle going into the left tail lamp assembly.

Thumbs up

Awesome! This is a project I have been putting off because I had no information on how to make it work. Now I can put on the list to complete

Peter--
Did you ever get this to work? I'd be interested as its something I've contemplated.

Warren--
You are (as always) a wealth of information. I need to go looking for this wire!

No need for a wiring diagram. the green/white wire is there behind the bumper, and the other end is there behind the blower in the trunk. It's just waiting to be connected!

Hi Peter:
I added a rear fog light to my 78 SC about 2years ago. This is how I did it. I purchased the fog light and bracket from Pelican, and firstly found out that my car did not have any factory wiring in place for the rear fog. Also I had an ugly hole in the dash where the PO had installed a non working toggle switch for the power antenna. So I also purchased a Hella (illuminated) dash pull switch from Pelican to use as the switch for the rear fog. I ran a new wiring harness under the car from front to back using 2 conductor trailer wiring which comes in a weather proof sheath. I clipped the wiring to the AC hoses so it is not noticeable at all. I also fused the circuit and mounted the new fuse in the fuse panel in the frunk. I have attached my wiring and installation notes FYI. Works great, very bright too. I am also thinking about a mod to it this winter, where I am going to modify the circuit so that the rear fog acts as a 3rd brake light , when it is not in fog service. (There more brake lights back there, the better I think!). Any questions- just ask!
~
Karl
