Does anyone make a stereo delete dash with the basket weave already on it?
My car's radio delete was performed by simply removing the head unit. I installed the Rennline delete plate but it just doesn't look right to me. I'd like a more elegant design that deletes the stereo but keeps the factory glovebox and basketweave.
I know Rennline sells one but it also deletes the glovebox: https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/RENDA75BW2.htm?pn=REN-DA75-BW2&gclid=CjwKCAiAzrWOBhBjEiwAq85QZ4qLalnTcq-Y5AY_EHX5_GloULRN7G-m6AZZqRZBajfZj4e6qKiTgRoCVW8QAvD_BwE&ByPassCat=Y I know Rennline also sells the aluminum dash and basketweave separately. I don't particularly trust myself to do this myself although I'm probably overestimating the difficulty. Are there any other options? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1640877613.jpg |
Cut a thin sheet of metal that slides in from the glovebox side and apply your basketweave to it. Fold the fabric under the right end a bit for a nice finish.

I actually just did it the lazy way and applied some DAP with a brush and a nice Pelicaner sent me a spare piece cut-to-size and glued it right on it as-is. It's just fine from a few feet away and I'm happy with it. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1643544060.jpg |
I suggest to get a DIN radio-delete tray from ebay for a few bucks.
comes very handy to place your sunglasses or similar. best way to use this spot instead of just blocking it. I did so. |
