Making sure the speednuts don't scratch the paint?

Hi folks - I need to put my '72 3.2L car bodywork back in place and want to make sure I don't scratch the paint when I put the speednuts in place.

Any been there / didn't scratch that tips?

Thanks!

Speednuts

I open them up a little with a small flat screwdriver before install. They will clamp down again and squish once you put the screw in and tighten them up.

So no grease or anything needed to help them move?

Appreciate the response, thank you.
