88 911 struts/shocks recommendation
My 88 still has the original shocks and I feel certain they are toast. This is a stock 911, m491 package and will only be used occasionally with no track use. The previous owner had it lowered slightly for a more euro look. I am thinking of going with standard Sachs replacements to keep originality. I dont want a harsh ride.
Any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks |

The green Bilsteins are pretty nice on a street car, not too harsh and a bit more responsive than the Boge or Sachs

I run Bilstein HD Greens in front and Sport Yellows in back as they did in the day. I feel like the M491 had the same shocks as the Clubsports. I'll check the catalog on Monday and give you the part numbers.

Thank you, that would be great. I was wondering if the m491 might have had a different setup. I am new to Porsche and have much to learn.

Yes the M491 and the ClubSport 3.2 Carrera had the Boge Hd or the Green Bilstein HD. I upgraded my standard Boge to the HD Boge on my 84 3.2 Carrera. It’s perfect. The Bilstein are on the stiffer side from my understanding. Hope this helps
