MSD 6AL Unit, is OEM rpm limiter needed anymore?

Greetings!
I have a MSD 6AL unit installed in my 1978 911SC. I would like to get rid of the OEM RPM limiter but I am unsure if I still need it or not. Does anyone know if the rev limiter on the MSD Unit is enough to protect my engine so that I can get rid of the original RPM limiter? If I can get rid of the original RPM Limiter, does anyone have a wiring diagram? Thanks!

I use my msd6al as a rev limiter on my 3.0 as I do not have an oem rev limiter. Im sure you can find a msd wiring diagram online. Im sure others will chime in with more useful info.

Thanks a lot, I figure my 3.0 can live withouth the rpm as well. I got the diagram so will get to it this weekend. Cheers!
