1988 Carrera Cabriolet Adjustment

Does any one know if there is a guide to adjustment or setting up an electric top.
I found this in an old post from 2009:

Pelican offers a Tech & Spec Guide for Cabriolet Tops (1983-94), 63 pages, 8.5" x 5.5" softbound

http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/BOOK/POR_BOOK_bkpbuy_pg2.htm

Which is - PORSCHE 911 SC & TURBO GOLD PORTFOLIO 1978-1983.

I have not seen a book completely dedicated to the adjustment of the cabrio top, but I suppose its possible. In my 10+ years of ownership I still think the best source of information is this forum.

Do you have a specific issue with your top?

Yeah having lots of trouble I sheared some of the teeth on the LHS control arm from the box which put everything out of alignment which let to the snapping of the main folding bow. Now after having the bow carefully welded back together (not paying the $2000 for a replacement) the steering arms don't align to put the pivot bolts back in, they are not out but much maybe 1/4 inch so looking for some adjustment. The only thing I can find is the lengthening /shortening adjustment with the 17 mm nuts.

Maybe some pics would help. Are you saying that the control arms on the two sides aren't exactly in synch? If thats the issue, one solution is to temporarily disconnect the drive cable from one side, and use the power button to move the other side until they are lined up. Sorry if that's not exactly what the issue is. I had to do that once with my top to realign the arms.

Not sure if it will help you but Sealing of 911 Coupe Targa Cabriolet has a lot of information on sealing our cars.

Sorry no I'm not really sure what to call the parts but it is on the one side the bolt to join the 2 steering arms is out of alignment so the bolt won't go in. As per photograph.

I did manage to find a Service Information Bulletin - WKD 4512.20 for a '83 911 SC which was a great help.
