Current thin-flange SSI's available without MFI heater tube?
Are the current thin-flange SSI's available without the MFI heater tube?
Backdating a '75 car and I bought these on eBay: But the heat exchangers I received have the MFI heater tube on the driver side: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1642546983.jpg Both the eBay listing and the box show a part # of 91.911SSI. I've had older SSI's on a couple cars that did not have the heater tube but wondering if that version is no longer being made under new SSI ownership. Any ideas? |
I'm pretty sure all the new ones are with the tube, if its not being used you just cap it off.

Wonder why everyone is showing the photo without the tube? |

Correcting my own post. Although Bill @ Pelican had told me that these were available without the MFI heater tube, turns out that SSI has recently consolidated their production and the non-MFI SSI's are NLA. Anyone using these in a carbureted car in the future will need to cap off the tube. Another first world problem we'll all have to live with.
