Highline Motors in Indianapolis?

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the board, though have been viewing it for more than six months. Lots of great info here.... I'm currently in the market for an 86-89 911 turbo or an 91-92 C2 Turbo. I am interested in a black 91 turbo on ebay that is being offered by Highline Motors in Indianapolis.
Does have anyone have any knowledge about this dealership's reputation? Even better, has anyone seen this particular car? I'm located in NJ and won't be able to get out there before the auction closes. I'd appreciate any feedback you can provide.

I haven't seen the car, but I know of the dealer. Changed management recently. Usually have good, clean cars at a price. I could take a look if you are seriously interested in it.

They have a good assortment of cars and have been around in name and location for sometime. Have little doubt of integrity, but didn't see the car in question when I was last there a few weeks ago. They had 993 with orange interior, a IROC, and various other common Porsches. Some of their specialty cars are housed in doors and others outside. Aren't always the most informed due to some of the cars being cosigned, but have never seen a loser on the lot. The IROC was SWEET!

I also am familiar with the dealership. A buddy bought a Ferrari from them and I haven't heard anything negative from him. I live within a few miles of it and could stop by and check it out if you like.

Thanks for the response... I am interested in the car and if either of you JR Indy or TRJ911 could take a look in the next day or so, I would really appreciate it. The auction ends Saturday night (with no reserve) and would like to see if it is worth my while to bid or not.

Highline had two Porsches up for sale on eBay with no reserve. All of a sudden they are off eBay before the bidding deadline - their explanation - eBay bidders bought the cars off line!

I don't intend to buy from Highline anytime soon!

Watch that NR '91 Turbo they have listed now and see if it doesn't also "disappear"! FWIW I think eBay sellers should "ride it out" on a NR sale!

Well, I spoke to Highline yesterday and they said they had two people offer $40k for the car pending an inspection, so they were just waiting for a deposit from one of them. What's the point of holding an auction if they're going to do that? Frustrating....

Ebay is cheap nationwide advertisement. While very frustrating for the bidder, you can't really blame for using this method of getting their cars seen.
My friend bought a used Boxster from them and had no complaints, but he's no Porsche guy and wouldn't have known what to complain about
