Question 200,000 mile or 300,000 km grill badges

Hey! How many of us own Porsches with a lot of miles/kilometers? Let's see your car/pictures!

Anyone seen grill badges celebrating 200k or 300k? Have they ever been offered by Porsche? Ever?
The only one I have seen is offered by the 356 Club and it's only for 100,000 kilometers (62,119 miles)...

For those of us who own well-loved, high-mileage cars driven daily, a nice grill badge (openly displayed on the rear deck lid) sure would give us more creditability; and just might explain why our cars may appear a little bit rougher and not quite as pampered... heh heh

Any ideas?

That is a cool idea. I would really like a 200,000 Km, now that I am at 215,000 and still going strong

jcossell,

Did the original engine last for a half million kilometers !!!!!

Boy, they really are sturdy little lumps of German engineering!

I have 140 000 kilometers - man, she is but a little baby!

The car company Volvo offers a high mileage badge FREE to owners who push their Volvos past 100,000 - 200,000 miles and up. I hope they continue that tradition now that Ford has their mits into them.

I would be cool if Porsche did something like that for it's loyal owners.

Do you think it is possible to get one from the 356 club? Might have to look on eBay

You could just add a badge for every 100,000 km. But that might be a little tacky for you 500,000 guys.

Mine's gone about 240k so I'd love a 200k one, maybe we should make one ourselves?

551k that is impressive! How long have you had it, jcossell?

My 912 has 491,000 km on it, with only one rebuild and one repaint. With continued proper care, I wouldn't be surprised to see some cars cracking 1,000,000 km in another two or so decades!

No pics though.

Peter,
I've owned it since 2002 and put about 25,000 on it before rebuilding. It will be a daily driver when finished (except for winter). I only paid $7,000 for the car as it needed a lot of TLC.

I was in Afghanistan from Feb 05 - Feb 06 and now have some play money. The body shows the km and 82's do in fact rust, just a little slower than the non-galvanized.

Hey! Nice cars everyone! Great to see TRUE Road Warriors!!!

Good eye, Peter, but not any more... That picture was taken last year in Arizona after living many years on a dusty, rough 'n rocky, dirt road in the foothills. Everyday was much like a Paris-Dakar rally to and from work

Now that I live in Southern California on much smoother roads, it's been lowered about 2" and corner-balanced. Here's a recent pic taken at the Zone 8 PCA Speed Festival at Fontana, CA. The red "296" car is also a 1984 Factory M491, fully sorted and racing in JP class.

So what if your car is a little hammered... with battle scars and road dings (mine has rock chips all over the front!!!) don't be afraid to post! All dog-tough veterans and road warriors welcome!!! Brake out with your pics!!!

Hi Paul, I was actually meaning Kroggers car, he is also Paul or Pål. Sorry about that. But I do think your car looks much better in the "new and lower version". I am impressed that you managed to keep that finish on it when driving on dirt roads!

Hey Peter, that is cool - I know she is still a bit high, and I have planed to do some work on the suspension at some point - will drop the high at the same time.

I see from your signature that you are part of the BeBi team - that is so cool dude. Maybe I should bribe you with some beer to sort out my suspension
