Belly pan / front sway bar bolt stripped

I recently pulled down the front belly pan / sway bar to reach the fuel pump, and when I reinstalled, noticed that the bolt that holds the long part of the sway bar on the driver's side (which also holds the metal belly pan) was stripped and won't tighten when fully seated. Looks like the mounting side thread is part of the body, so I'm thinking I'll need to use a Heli-coil / time cert, after cutting a new thread.

Just pinging the forum in case I'm missing anything/alternative approaches, or things to keep in mind/concerns.

Anyone know what size Heli-coil/time cert off hand?

TIA!

lets say it's an M12-1.5 bolt. If you buy an M12-1.5 thread insert kit you will get a drill, tap and insert that will fit your bolt.

The outside thread form on the insert will be much larger than M12 but you will end up with what you want.

Two tips, thoroughly lubricate the drill and tap, have another pair of eyes looking at 90 deg to you (hopefully between the two of you it will be perpendicular)
