Turbo Tie Rod Installation
Finally getting around to installing turbo tie rods. Removed the drivers side and here's what I found.
![]() The old one is significantly shorter than the new one with the spacer. Is it ok to remove the spacer? Should I fabricate a thinner spacer? JG

gotta use the spacer. they're adjustable for length, so put them on, and then adjust the toe.

It doesn't appear that I will have enough adjustment.

One more question. The new boots are both very long but the old one on the passenger side is very short. Is there a trick or modification I need to know about?

remove the tie rod ends, and attach the tierods and spacers to the rack first, then spray the boots with wet style silicone spray and work them on. then reinstall the ends. a 90° hook tool helps get the boot onto the rack. the old metal spring clamps are not used.
