What 911 engine is this?

I’m looking at a Porsche 911 engine with the following identifiers: BEHR GO. 911 107 041 00. Bosch 0 280 140 201. 930.101.104.4R From this info does anyone know what this engine is from? Thank you very much. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1644429743.jpg

That looks like a 3.0 SC case. The Behr sku is a press on oil cooler, I think and the bosch is an air regulator.

Is there a way to break down the numbers i have to find what year of 911 this came out of and more specifics on the engine?

There should be some numbers on the case, near the right side of the fan. One will start with a star, the other will be something like 930/21.

Thanks i will try to find them

it is 911SC 1981-83..interesting way to store it..very sad..the suspect here is the cut of the oil hose...those were usually done on stolen engines..verify for your sake the origin of it

The 0 280 140 201 is the Auxiliary Air Valve Regulator (AAV) from a RoW 911 SC, those were used on all RoW SCs from '78 through '83.
See more details here: https://www.mengenteiler.eu/index.php?artikel_id=30203246&KHerNr=92&KModNr=134 &KTypNr=&seite=kmt_details&language=eng

The information that these units were intentionally used in RoW models I got from a personal list. For the US models they used 0280104209 (9/1977 - 7/1979) and 0280140218 (from 9/1979 - 8/1983). I suppose they might differ mainly on the electrical resistance how quick they will warmup and close only. No need to change if this unit works properly.

The Behr oil cooler is standard on all SCs from 78-83.
