'73 interior black paint

I need to repaint the metal plates on the sides of my seats, and the metal access plate over the hump between the back floorboards.

Is this Eastwood paint acceptable, or should I find something else?

Wrinkle Paint Black Aerosol 12 oz

Item No. - 10014 Z
Reproduce the original wrinkle finish on parts such as heater boxes, dashboards ignition wire holders, valve covers and more. Tack-free in 20-30 minutes. 24 hours for full hardness. For metal only. Each can covers 4 sq. ft.

To truly replicate the correct finish on the hinge side covers....I would sand them down....apply a coat of spray adhesive from a distance (spatter type finish), then overcoat with semi-gloss paint.

Work on your spatter finish technique on something else before trying this on the hinges.....

regards,
Eric

I just had another thought......though the spray adhesive method has worked for me in the past....you may want to try a paint that already applies a texture..and then paint over it.

I believe that "zolotone" (it's a granite, multi-speckled paint), used in trunks on 60's and 70's domestic cars, might work to get the texture.....then overcoat with the semi gloss.

Take a look at the Eastwood catalog...they might have this...or the usual (Lowes, Homely Depot).
